Extra and Intraoral Exam

Oral health and hygiene are very closely to our body’s physical health. The oral cavity is in direct contact with the rest of your body and thus can affect your general health. Infection in your mouth can eventually spread to your lymph nodes and be extremely dangerous. It is important that you regularly have dental exams in order to maintain your oral health and thus your overall health.

Professional Cleaning

Our registered dental hygienist at Hermosa Dental will provide you with a cleaning and gum evaluation. The cleaning will consist of plaque removal, calculus removal, and polishing. Professional cleanings are necessary at least every six months in order for your hygienist to clean those areas that are hard to clean simply with a toothbrush. In addition, once plaque builds up it begins to calcify over time and becomes tartar (or calculus), calculus can only be removed with specific instruments by your dental hygienist.
